Headaches are bothersome, and we often find it impossible to prevent them. Most of the time, headaches come on spontaneously when we are under strain. If it worsens, we might pass out from the pain.
A headache is a condition marked by mild to severe head pain. It can also attack our upper back or neck. There are different types of headaches, but most of the time headaches are brought on by stress, too long in front of a computer, noise, and others.
Tension in the muscles of the neck, scalp, and jaw is one of the primary causes of headaches. Sleeping or taking over-the-counter aspirin to relieve the discomfort is typically how we handle it. Can we do this everywhere, though?
We can’t sleep at work or the mall, of course. In addition, when a headache strikes, we can be out of aspirin.
Be at ease! Massage is the simplest and most universal way to treat headaches. Applying pressure or vibration to the soft tissues of the body is the practice of massage, which is used to treat injuries, ease psychological stress, manage pain, enhance circulation, and alleviate tension.
We can aid ourselves by massaging ourselves when we get headaches. Both at work and at home, it is easy to complete.
Here are four easy ways to massage to heal our headaches.
1. Eyes Area Massage — Close your eyes. Place your middle fingers on your eyes that are above your cheekbones. Massage that area gently but firmly in a circular motion for 1 minute,
2. Eyes to Nose Massage – Using your thumb, go along the underside of the eyebrows (along the bone on top of the eye socket). Feel where this bone meets the bridge of your nose and eyes and find a point where there is a small indentation. Very gentle pressure, press your thumbs into the points. You can do it four times by holding and pressing that area for 10 seconds in each press.
3. Neck Massage — Massage a point where you can feel it by moving the middle fingers of your hands to the back of your head and feel the base of your skull. Especially, at the tops of your neck that meet the base of your skull. Massage for a minute using your fingertips gently in a circular movement.
4. Scalp Massage – Let the palms of your hands massage your scalp on the top of your skull for a minute gently.
Once you have done all those massages, start taking a deep breath. Lift your shoulders towards your ears for five to 10 seconds to relieve the remaining pain, and then let them drop back down into their natural position.
You are going to feel better when you can do that a couple of times. Your massage will relieve your headache and your head will feel less weighty.
